The Management Classification Plan (MCP) provides a set of standard criteria to determine the value of one job in relation to another. This ensures jobs with significantly different requirements are paid differently and that jobs of equal or comparable value are paid within the same pay range.
A classification review may be in order if a new set of duties or responsibilities is created or the duties or responsibilities of an existing position have altered sufficiently to justify a review as to the appropriateness of the position's classification.Find out more about out-of-scope classification below:
You can access an Electronic Position Description (ePD) by clicking Initiate Classification Action on your
PSC Client Home screen.
For an in-scope position, click the SGEU In-scope button. For an out-of-scope position, click the Out-of-Scope button. For more information on job descriptions and classification for Middle Managers please refer to

This policy outlines the job evaluation processes, including: the classification of a new or vacant position or re-classification of an existing position; the initiation of an appeal of a classification decision; and/or the challenge of an upward reclassification within the Government of Saskatchewan (GoS).
