The opportunity for job sharing, variable hours and reduced hours of work are available for permanent full-time employees.

When feasible, employees can request for work arrangements to balance their hours of work with their personal or medical needs.

Salary Calculation

To make a salary calculation request, managers should complete the Salary Calculation Request Form.

Managers should refer to the Salary Calculation Request Process Checklist and the Manager Checklist – Definite LOA for Term Position Checklist.

Variable Hours

Employees requesting a leave with income averaging should complete the Leave with Income Averaging-Variable Hours Application.

For more information on variable hours, please refer to the SGEU Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Reduced Hours

Permanent out-of-scope employees looking to voluntarily reduce their hours of work for personal needs should complete the Reduced Hours of Work Arrangements.

In-scope employees looking to request variable hours should complete the Job share - Variable Hours Application Form (SGEU).

Temporary Assignment or Performance of High Duties Less Than 90 Days

Employees who are temporarily assigned to duties of another position classified at a level with a higher rate of pay are eligible for additional payments.

To receive these payments, In-Scope (SGEU) and Out-of-Scope employees should complete the TAHD Less Than 90 Days Request for Payment Form and In-Scope (CUPE) employees should complete the TPHD Less than 90 Days Request for Payment Form(CUPE). Managers may refer to the TAHD Manager Job-Aid for more information.
