As an employee new to government, one of the things you will need is a government photo identification (ID) card. Photo ID cards are available for all government employees and contractors. This card will help identify you as a government employee, and will often need to be worn inside government buildings, like the Legislative building. All employees are encouraged to acquire photo ID as soon as they begin work. Photo ID cards can be valid for up to five years and need to be replaced once they expire.

You can learn more about Photo ID services below or by reading the Photo Identification Card Guide

Please note the Photo ID Request Form requires both the applicant and supervisor’s signature for approval.
*Please note that this number requires 10-digit dialing.

  • Email photo ID requests
Complete and sign the Photo ID Request Form and send the form and a current employee photo to Photo ID services at photoidrequest@gov.sk.ca. Please refer to the photo requirements when submitting a photo via email. Please note the email photo ID request should come from the employee’s supervisor and not the employee requesting the photo ID. The request email must include the completed form and the employee photo. Once all the information has been verified, a photo ID card will be printed and mailed to the employee. Photo ID requests are handled on a first come first served basis. Requests for building and project contractors are given priority as these individuals require ID in order to gain access to government spaces.
